“What, ah, what've you been up to?” Millet's smile is almost pure, top lip quirked just right to show their teeth. Their voice is small, but punchy. Inquisitive. Bright, almost. Like you can see them strolling about, yapping about fish and horrible novels.

About a month ago, this young little thing ducked into your room, clueless as all hell. That was always the hardest part. But, you know, three's a crowd. Filigree pressed its face up against the vent for the first time in its life. You're pretty sure it's seen just about as much of that place as you have. Neither of you had ever seen this. For the first time in a while, you wished you were dead.
You shake your head.
You didn't believe you were still alive. It's starting to feel a little more real every day. And you swear to god these are the last scars you'll ever get.
