"I do. I love you," Izuku responded quietly, the confession didn't feel like one that set him free though.
"We can't be together yet," Katsuki said sadly. The music in the background had somehow turned melancholic as well. "Not when you look at me and see a dead body."

After the War, his friends all find ways to heal, but Izuku refuses to let go of his guilt. Lucky for him, Katsuki is there to give him a push in the right direction.

A loud bang startled him as his door slammed open. Izuku turned around to see his door blown off its hinges and an irate Katsuki standing inside it.
"What the fuck did you just say to me? I should stop pretending like I care about you? I love you, goddammit. I spent the last eight years funding a suit so you can live your dream. And I built an entire agency so we could work together again. You rejected me, asshole. And then you ran off with Round Face. My fucking damaged heart has been yours and you stomped on it so if anyone's pretending to care, it's you!" Katsuki's chest was heaving and he had a wild look in his eye that Izuku hadn't seen in a long time.

Or, Katsuki starts hanging out with Monoma instead of Izuku after their last class reunion and Izuku's not taking it well.
