Summary
“We’re going to kill you, Parrot.”
“What?” He scoffed, already turning around as he gave a quick glance to Wemmbu and Egg who stood behind him. “Come on, let’s head to Spawn.”
Parrot waited, he really did. For the footsteps of someone he had — no, believed he’d fixed their conflict with, along with that person’s best friend. But all he heard was his own diamond boots click against the ice, in solitude.
They weren’t following him. And as the realisation truly set in, his feet came to a stop.
“…You’re not being serious, are you?”

Summary
This strange, absurdly strong feeling had been gnawing from Wemmbu’s insides — or maybe the lack of emotions was what had been eating him alive. Slowly, agonisingly, sluggishly. So slow he didn’t know if it was even there or he’d just been hallucinating it. It didn’t feel real. None of it did. Of course, he didn’t know how to explain that to himself. Not like he’d be able to anyone else, either.
He is was strong. Sure, maybe he defeated Flame for once. Maybe he was indeed seen as The Strongest by quite literally anyone he’d come across.
But what did that get him?
Nothing.
Nothing at all. This title, this new… power, that let him advocate fear in others? Worthless. That terror he’d see on everyone — earned him nothing.
He thought that maybe for once, he’d feel a sense of pride that didn’t come with guilt after. Maybe after proving himself, even Mane would come back. Maybe Wemmbu could get his rivalry between him and Flame done with. Maybe he could laugh at Zam for calling him undeniably weak.
Yet, none of those opportunities came by.

Summary
It was getting more difficult to hold in his breath and the brief amount of oxygen he could collect before sinking was not enough for his body to be sustained. If he had just reacted fast enough, maybe he would’ve gotten a lot more than this. And maybe if he was that lucky, Parrot could actually find him before he passed out and sank to the bottom of the floor.
His heartbeats rose to the inside of his ears, thumping loudly with every second passing by. Wemmbu’s eyes were starting to hurt from the salt water — but he didn’t want to shut them in fear of swaying somewhere further from his current position. The further he was from his initial position, the less likely Parrot would be able to find him.
Wemmbu could feel how there was a slight, internal press to his nose and chest as his body was trying to gasp for air. But he couldn’t let go, otherwise his lungs would stuff up with liquid and he’d eventually suffocate and drown.
But with one final, dull and coaxing push, he accidentally let his mouth open.

Summary
And now, here wemmbu was…
“PLEASE, bro—” Wemmbu pleaded, shaking Zam by his shoulders and almost knocking the emperor out. “We have to play! Come on, surely volleyball can’t be such a stain on your reputation!”
…begging Zam to play volleyball for him.
“Okay— Okay, OKAY!” He yelled, shoving Wemmbu off of him as the demon simply laughed at his sudden exasperation. Zam pressed a hand to his forehead, groaning as if he’d just received an aching migraine. Wemmbu was truly just a hindrance to him.
“...Fine.” He crossed his arms, glancing away. “Just— not for too long. I got things to do.”
By things, he meant sit pretty on his throne, but he’d never admit that.
Zam could hear Wemmbu exclaim with an absurdly high-pitched ‘yay’, confident enough in Zam’s keenness, as if the emperor were truly excited to play sports with him. He grabbed his arm as the emperor yelped, dragging him away to God knows where.
“Seriously, I’ve never been so annoyed by you of all people!”

Summary
His head slumped even further before hitting the ground, sand flying pathetically low at the arrival of their new neighbour. Everything was starting to blur into a fog-like, muddled up piece of watercolour art, which didn’t make sense to Flame as he was still convinced that they couldn’t have done that much to him. But at the realisation he was currently vulnerable, a sense of dread and panic settled into his chest. He tried to get up, but it felt as if his efforts were drastically useless — his attempts at getting up felt closer to just bringing up an arm or two before they fell limp.
