Summary
"It's, like, not fair, though? For them to be holding that against you?"
Jake's words seem to be coming from very far away. A high-pitched noise, like static, fills Felix's ears.
"But it's nothing worse than what half the crowd are doing when they host a Spank night at Revenge, isn't it? It's, like, completely mainstream at this point."
It slowly dawns on Felix that Jake seems to be showing - sympathy? Solidarity, even?
"They talk enough about 'modern Policing mirroring the communities it serves', right?" he continues. "But this is Brighton. I bet there's more leather daddies in the city than there are - I don't know. Gingers, probably."
Detective Inspector Felix Kane's secret activities become not-so-secret. A story about televised sports, fast cars, loose morals, and love in unlikely places.
