He was, as Bull had so perfectly put it, hot and bothered. And for the first time in a long time, it wasn’t fleeting. I wasn’t an itch to be scratched and forgotten about. He wanted Bull, fiercely, in a way that seemed to settle in his bones, but more than that he wanted to be seen by him. Mahanon had always been a creature of fierce independence, but there was something inside him that wanted to lay down at Bull’s feet like a well trained Mabari. He wasn’t sure he knew what to do with that, but he was fairly certain Bull would.

Mahanon reached across the table, grabbed Bull's tankard, and drank it down - throat working, and when he set the empty down he dragged his tongue slowly across his lower lip. His eyes came up to Bull's. Green as the Fade and twice as treacherous.
He leaned in, lips at the base of Bull's horn.
