Summary
The blossoming relationship of snarky, asshole Detective Gavin Reed and newly deviant but still quite andoridesque RK900 was a bumpy road, well, more like a road made entirely of rocks and tire-puncturing razors. But they made it. Nines, who Gavin named himself post-deviancy, fought back against Gavin's treatment to show the human a challenge, something Gavin never expected. They would die for each other now, but it started with an aggressive detective who wanted nothing more than for this partnership they were forced into by the department to end. How did they get here? To a romantic relationship that seems to be in all words, perfect for them. They still tease and give equally sarcastic comments, but it is affection now, not malice. This is the story of two beings, two very different things physically, one a gruff, but lonely human and one still learning to be a deviant android, but deep down, more connected and relatible then they originally thought. This is what brought the unlikely couple together. From the bitter months of fighting to Nines’ first show of vulnerability around Gavin to the first moments of intimacy and feelings for each other. The change from unwilling partnership to devotion
