The silence, while serene, lasts only a second before Katsuki begrudgingly taps at the edge of his communicator. “If you’re callin' me before I’m even out the door this shit had better be importa-”
“Good morning!” is chirped with the enthusiasm of a blackbird the moment stars blink away from midnight skies. Katsuki can't help but wince when it brings with it a very specific ring of tinnitus, can't help but grimace when the nausea from before swells as his stomach swoops. “I knew you’d have your costume on at this time! I think I know you better than the back of my hand, you know -”
“Deku.”
“Oh.”
A quick pause is all it takes for the uncertainty in Izuku’s voice to make the hand curled around a gauntlet freeze.
“I didn’t realise this would make your character regress, Kacchan. Do you wanna be back at 15 that bad?”
And a teasing tone is all it takes for Katsuki to wish that the man was there so he could throw it in his goddamn face.

Summary
"Izuku?"
The relief that fills him is euphoric, but peeking around the door and witnessing Ochaco standing in the eye of a paper-laundry storm with a single eyebrow raised dwindles it quickly to uncertainty.
"You wanna tell me what this is?" Ochaco asks, her innocence betrayed by the curiosity that laces her words and a smile so crooked it's near-wicked.
His mouth parts in confusion until a flurry of white and purple draws his attention, looking just beside her head to see -
A to-go cup, one that would be relatively innocuous if not for the story it tells: a unique lavender wrap cut off by a cream lid, droplets of the same shade dripping from the lip to create waves that 'ripple' at the bottom; a row of mauve boxes curved right along the edge and marked to show that it once held a triple-shot Americano with extra, extra caramel syrup…
And the logo for 'Lavender Lattes', barely legible thanks to the name 'DYNAMIGHT 🖤' scrawled across it.
