Summary
Eighteen-year-old Poppy Blume studied to breed pokémon in a world where eggs haven’t hatched for decades.
She has been drawn to the dormant eggs in an abandoned barn behind Professor Oak’s laboratory since childhood. For decades, they’ve remained silent, and no one has been able to say why. Given a single opportunity, she sets out to prove she can succeed where others failed.
Her success reveals a problem far larger than she expected.
Balance has shifted beyond the barn. Fewer trainers leave home and the wild grows less forgiving in their absence. What felt contained before surfaces elsewhere in ways her studies never considered. The eggs may not wait for her to understand.
