Getting infected by a mutated strain of t-virus and used as a guinea pig by the government changes how Liam sees himself in a way that he's struggling to cope with, even after almost three years after the incident.
A particularly bad nightmare wakes him up on a chill Winter night. Alone and panicked, he does his best to cope with his emotions, wishing with all his heart for Leon, his husband, to be there with him.Excerpt:
It’s dark all around him, unnaturally so. He doesn’t know where he is or even why he’s there. He cannot see or hear anything. He can only feel and he wishes he couldn’t do that either.
It starts from the center of his chest and radiates out, painfully locking all his muscles in place. He knows this sensation all too well. It’s fear, raw and oppressive, slithering up his throat and catching his breath there, like fingers tightening around his hypersensitive flesh, choking him.
