Summary
Yoonah always used to tell Beomgyu this, even when he was a child and far too young to be in charge of his coat.
"Stay away from humans, Beomgyu. They're all the same: vicious and cruel. They don't love you. They just want the pride of keeping a wild creature. And whatever you do, always hide your cloak.
Beomgyu remembers the longing in her voice when she talked about home. He remembers the freedom in her laughter as she found her coat, the happiness in her eyes as she pressed a kiss to his forehead, and the delight as she dove into the sea, never to be seen again.
Beomgyu made a decision, then, to never let a human close enough to even know about his coat.
Yeonjun's different, though. At least, that's what he tells himself.
or: selkie beomgyu falls in love with yeonjun, the pretty human with bright pink hair and a soft smile and learns that maybe love doesn't always mean being kept, just like how all humans aren't vicious and cruel

Summary
“Are you Teacher Choi?” he asks, and the person turns. Yeonjun forgets, briefly, why he’s here. The art teacher is… pretty, distractingly so. His dark hair falls a little past his shoulders, streaked white in uneven pieces that have been dusted with chalky color. Half of it is tied back away from his face. Silver jewelry hangs from both ears, mismatched and swaying slightly when he moves, and over a long-sleeved white t-shirt and black jeans is a black apron with a tiny bear stitched onto the breast pocket.
“That’s me,” he says easily. Then he smiles down at Eunchae. “Hi, Eunchae.”
or: 5 times Yeonjun's daughter messed up her art teacher's things + 1 time she didn't
