Here he was now, his hand awkwardly wrenched down so his mom could stare at his hand. Mrs. Hutchins gasped as she studied the ring… her gaze promptly traveling to where Avery was collapsed in the bed.
Derek suddenly realized the implications of giving your mother an urgent call that vaguely requests her personal presence with the promise of further elaboration once she got there, followed up answering the door wearing a fancy ring and having an admittedly pulchritudinous man in his room… bed. Ugh.
