Summary
She remembered it well, when, at only three centuries old, Aek had brought a group of novice cupids there to better understand how mortal bonds were defined. She remembered asking about the Department of Potential Analysis and why that task was restricted to only a few scholars. Aek had adjusted the glasses on his nose with an intriguing smile before opening the great doors at the end of a long staircase that twisted and turned before reaching its final destination.
After that, Prem had never returned there. She had no need to. It was not part of her role — in fact, she was not even permitted to interact with certain things, cupids who were not scholars were allowed there only to observe. So when she pushed open the pale wooden doors, the sight within brought back that same feeling from long ago.
