Summary
Charlotte Hook-Charming grows up loved loudly.
By her Mama who throws her into piles of blankets beside her brother and refuses to let her become afraid of her own body. By her Mommy who tracks temperatures, hydration, medications, winter forecasts, and every tiny shift in Charlotte’s smile without even noticing she’s doing it anymore.
Around them exists an entire tangled network of people who raise each other’s children halfway by accident.
Cookouts. Hospital rooms. Soccer games. Tea parties in crooked plastic crowns. Heating pads during movie nights. Popsicles melting down little wrists. Hazen and RJ bleeding somewhere in the background at all times.
Charlotte’s life is not small because her world requires extra care.
It’s just fuller.

Summary
Chloe gets stuck at Auradon Elementary for a Saturday work obligation, leaving Hazel alone with Hazen and Charlotte for the day while she helps at Hook's Inlet and Shack.
Hazen spends the entire day one bad decision away from falling into the harbor. Charlotte eats melting strawberry ice cream on the back dock steps and quietly asks Hazel whether maybe she could take dance lessons like Poppy and Maddie Lucia.
By the time Hazel gets home smelling like seawater and sunscreen, Chloe is already half-awake researching adaptive ballet classes before either of them admits that’s what she’s doing.
