Summary
“As you can see, change is never something set in stone,” he speaks up once more, explaining his point to this part of the story. “Our family has always been adapting. We’ve never been expected to fit perfectly into a preconceived idea of our future. You included, my dearest daughter.”
He looks at her with eyes as warm as the fire blazing in the reflection of his eyes. Her eye looks back at her from his, with the other still aching under her bangs, and she sees someone so much less worthy of that mercy than he must have been.
—
King Ren takes up nurturing Cherri in ways that'd typically go to her mother, amplified by the Royal Family's dragon lineage. His instincts have always urged him to include torches, acting as the Dragon's pillars.
This time, a recently scarred Cherri is afraid, rather than in awe of the flame like she used to be.

Summary
Torches were arranged in a circular pattern throughout the entire room, surrounding a blanket. It was rather similar to something Apo would see the Neck Romancer set up for a ritual – this could be something Cherri learned from him.
Stepping forward, she leaned down and poked the top of the blanket. Apo raises an eyebrow when not only the Princess pops out, but also the Prince.
—
Long before Apo learns of Cherri's hoarding and treasures, she'd found out something else about dragon instincts.

Veering around, she faces the wall instead, and wonders if Apo will spend all night thinking about it too.
–
Three times Cherri's tail subconsciously intertwined with Apo's, and one time Apo intentionally does the same.

Summary
Cautiously, they step closer and lightly poke the blankets. A few moments pass, and out pops the familiar face they've come to love.
“Not… the weirdest thing I’ve seen you do,” the Moon Knight starts, which is shockingly true. “What are you doing?”
Cherri’s face flushes in what Apo assumes is embarrassment. “Uh. Hey, dude…”
—
Apo loses her star ornament and her Princess in the night. She finds both in treasure and dragon shenanigans.
