Summary
A sharp kick to his left leg made him buckle. He clutched the ground in pain. Constant mutters of ‘ow, ow, ow’ fell from his lips. With a pained eye he looked up at the other to find him walking away.
“He sure packs a punch for someone so small.” He seethed through his teeth with teary eyes, watching the figure stomp away.
However, pain isn’t the only thing that settled in him. It budded gradually and found home in his heart. A spark, a flame, ignited in his cold, desolate, soul.
He was not cradled by it like the leaves he had once dreamed to become. That sense of weightlessness, that fall, did not come to him, and yet-
He felt claimed by a different kind of gravity all together.
--
On and island where the volcano of an ancient God slumbers, a ritual is commenced to quench its rage every 20 years. This year, 'the Chosen' has passed on before said ritual could take place. One question arises on the small land: "Who will take his place?"
Gradually, eyes settle on Osamu Dazai, the boy who appeared from nowhere, and Chuuya Nakahara, who might have a closer relationship to the active landmass than assumed. Lives on the line and bonds forming, things well...
They erupt.

Summary
“I see… someone with a crippling height complex, if they're willing to get this close.” Dazai uttered hushedly. Because even with the waves crashing against themselves, Nakahara was close enough that his muted voice was audible.
And yet it only served to pull him nearer. Nakahara's visage, gentle yet challenging. “Is that all?”
Dazai raised his head slightly, “Isn't it?”
His forced compatriot hummed. "If you can't help but be blind to it, or if yer just too stubborn to admit it, I'll school you upfront on what's inside."
"How?"
Close enough to fog each other’s glass demeanor. Nakahara breathed into him.
