Summary
This wasn't the first time that thoughts of Katsuki would keep her up at night.
Sometimes she felt like he was the only thing that was ever on her mind.
But this time was different, she couldn't stop thinking of seeing his face for the first time earlier that day since leaving UA, and the unfamiliar softness in his eyes that bore into hers, it was as if he was trying to tell her something without wanting to say it. The overwhelming relief she felt at the sight of him was difficult to come to terms with.
After spending so long on the run, seeing Katsuki again had felt like coming home—warm, safe, and achingly comforting.
If it hadn't been for his efforts, the words he spoke, or the apology he offered, she might never had made it back home that day.

Or, Izumi returns to U.A broken and exhausted, and seeks comfort in the only person in the world she truly believes can understand her.

Summary
Izumi glanced back toward her phone lying abandoned on the bed. Then back at the mirror. Then down at the hoodie sleeves swallowing her hands again. Her stomach fluttered. Before she could overthink herself out of it, Izumi quickly grabbed her bag from beside the desk.
"I'll just drop it off," she reasoned aloud while hurriedly shoving essentials into the bag. "That's all. Totally casual."
Even she didn't sound convinced.

Summary
Katsuki knew these thoughts weren't right.
He knew that looking at Izumi and feeling that sharp, instinctive sense of ownership wasn't something he should be proud of. She wasn't an object. She wasn't something that belonged to anybody.
But knowing that and feeling it were two entirely different things.

Summary
Beside her, Katsuki went completely still. Neither of them looked at each other. Neither said a word. Slowly, almost cautiously, their hands settled again.
Close. Very close.
Neither retreating. Neither advancing.
Simply existing within that fragile space between friendship and something else.
The tension became almost unbearable. Izumi's pulse thundered in her ears. She wondered if Katsuki could hear it. She wondered if his heart was beating just as fast.
Then, at some point she couldn't quite identify, the distance disappeared entirely.
A finger shifted.
Another followed.
The movement was subtle enough that she couldn't have said who moved first.
Perhaps neither of them did. Perhaps both of them did.
All she knew was that one moment their hands had been resting beside each other. And the next, their fingers had become intertwined.

Or, Katsuki wants to go see a movie with Izumi, and things become more complicated than what either of them could have anticipated.

Summary
Katsuki felt his pulse begin to quicken. She was looking at him differently. Not with confusion. Not even embarrassment anymore. And he realised, with startling clarity... He'd been looking at her exactly the same way all evening.
Almost absentmindedly... He lifted one hand. Slowly enough that she could have moved away if she'd wanted to.
She didn't.
His fingertips hesitated only for a heartbeat before his palm came to rest gently against her cheek. She was warm. So impossibly warm. Her skin was softer than he'd imagined. Tiny freckles disappeared beneath the span of his hand.
Izumi's breath caught. Every muscle in her body went perfectly still.
"K-Kacchan..."
Her voice barely rose above a whisper. He swallowed.
"I..."
For perhaps the first time in his life... Katsuki Bakugo had absolutely no idea what he was doing. He only knew one thing. He wanted her to know she wasn't the only one. A faint smile tugged almost imperceptibly at the corner of his mouth.
"...I was looking at you too."
