Sakura's happiness, as it usually was, was short lived. He had laid down on a grassy patch, panting from how much he'd been running about, when he heard the crunching of leaves under someone's foot. Startled, he sat up, hand reaching out to grab his stick nearby. Sometimes his foster-siblings came to find him, angry they were sent out to bring him back, and sometimes it was kids who heard about the mysterious forest demon and came to poke fun of him.He didn't recognize the kid before him, so it was safe to assume the kid was either new in town, or new to the playground. He looked roughly the same age as Sakura, even if he appeared to be a bit taller. His hair was combed back, and it looked dark red in color. His eyes were a light brown, and for a moment, the pair just stared at each other.
Finally, the new kid spoke up, "Hello."

"This is Suo Hayato, your fiance."
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Haruka-kun," The informal usage of his first name had Sakura's hackles raising, heat growing on his cheeks as he fought to keep a blank face, though judging by the amused look on Suo's face, he was doing terribly at hiding the embarrassment. "I look forward to our engagement, I shall take care of you, as I ask you to take care of me."
Suo's way of speaking, and the careful choice of words, made Sakura's chest feel… odd. He wasn't in a position to expect to be taken care of, he had been told this time and time again. He was to serve as needed of him, and accept whatever was given to him. He served his father as a political bargaining chip, and he accepted scraps— both of food and of affection. Still, he kept his face as neutral as he was able, bowing his head slightly.

One of them reached forward, grabbing his jaw, fingers digging into his cheeks. He could feel the bite of their blunt nails, the breaking of his skin. "That's better, now—"
Sakura heard the chime of the bell this time, piercing through the shop. Before anyone had time to respond, the lights flickered off, leaving the four of them in darkness, each shadow looking eerie in the light coming in from the sidewalks.
"What the hell? I locked the front door," The man holding Sakura turned, turning Sakura along with him to see who had intruded.
"You're making a mess," The voice was familiar, and Sakura blinked heavily, trying to focus on the figure standing in the front door, "And you're touching something that's mine."

Endo took a seat from a nearby table, pulling it up and scooting as close to Sakura as he could, "Takiishi knows of my interest in you," A sleezy smile grew on his face, and the blush on his cheeks was far less endearing than Sakura's, "Besides, I have two hands, don't I?"
Sakura barely batted an eye at Endo's suggestive tone, evidence of his growth in the romance area, but Suo noted the redness in the tips of his ears. Despite the disgust he feels being so near Endo, he couldn't help but think that Sakura's blushing was one of the most endearing sights he's ever seen.
"I don't care how many hands you have," Sakura sneered, leaning slightly, pressing his arm against Suo's, glare still stuck on Endo, "I'm not interested. I'm also not single," Suo felt his pulse jump, and it was only years and years and years of training that helped him school his expression. The others, however, weren't as capable, showing various surprised expressions. Sakura continued, not noticing any of it, "Suo and I are dating."
