“You can run back to Suzuka-san when she returns… But while it’s just the two of us… please let me have you for myself.”
To everyone else, Grass Wonder is just a supportive friend, and Spe-chan is doing what she always does: waiting for a text from Suzuka. On a cold night in the dorms, the distance finally feels too much, and Grass stops pretending she’s okay with being second best.

“I had spent months trying to earn her gaze. Yet standing at the finish line, I realized that even in victory, I was still running against a ghost.”
Grass Wonder has always known where Special Week’s gaze falls, and the more she tries to close the distance between them, the more impossible it seems. But can races have a way of revealing what words leave unspoken?
A recollection of Grass Wonder’s love for Special Week, loosely inspired by White Nights by Fyodor Dostoyevsky.
