----------
Darkness enveloped the forest that wind and rain threatened to tear apart. A crack of lightning scorched across the sky into a clearing, and in it appeared a glowing figure crouched low to the ground. The figure slowly stood, emanating a radiant light from the core of its being. Its features were difficult to discern, but one could make out a silhouette of a long billowing trench coat and glowing blue eyes aflame with intent. Behind the figure stretched two huge, inky black wings crackling with electricity, pulsing with the rainbow sheen of an oil slick, feathers blowing wildly in the swirling wind and rain.Dean. Where are you? thought Castiel, Angel of the Lord.

Summary
Everything is wine and roses for Dean and Castiel now that they've finally worked through their feelings for one another. That is until Sam's girlfriend Charlene is summoned away suddenly under mysterious circumstances, and Castiel decides to go with her. How do Dean and Sam react when they're left behind? Is Charlene everything she claims to be? Can Dean work through his newfound feelings of jealousy?
This works as a stand-alone, but I strongly recommend starting with Wake Up.

Sam cast a sympathetic eye his brother’s way. “He’s only been gone an hour, Dean. He’s been gone days, weeks, months. He always comes back.”
“Yeah, well he wouldn’t just up and leave now, after, you know…” his eyes and tone trailed down to drag along the ground behind his wounded pride.
“How do you know that?” questioned Sam quietly. “Did you negotiate that? Did he say that? Maybe he’s off on official angel business or something.” He cleared his throat. “I mean, it’s Cas we’re talking about here. He’s not exactly great at communicating.”
“Well, things are different now.”
“How do you know that?” questioned Sam calmly.
“They just are, okay?” Dean replied defensively.Series

Summary
Part three of the Wake Up trilogy!
The boys are back in the bunker with a new guest, which means new complications. Dean wants Castiel to make himself at home, but what does that mean, exactly? Sam is fixated on helping his new girlfriend Charlene navigate the repercussions of being possibly more than human, but she is more concerned with helping Castiel explore what it means to be more than an angel. Jealousy, mystery, and smut abound!
I'll be posting this in sections over time. Comments are life!

She leaned up against the dresser and put the pen to her chin. “Okay, Cas, let’s begin at the beginning. How did you meet?”
He blinked slowly at her and didn’t speak for a moment. Then he began, voice low, purposeful, almost proud. “It was commanded of me. Heaven needed Dean. He broke the first seal of Lucifer’s cage, and he was the only one could prevent the Apocalypse. I was sent into hostile territory as a Warrior of God. I flew through hell fire and the sound of millions of souls screaming in agony. I wrestled a knife from his hands, wrapped my grace around his soul, and dragged him from Perdition.”
Charlene’s mouth hung open as she stared at Castiel through dark lashes. “Holy shit.”
