Summary
Alastor loved Rosie. Alastor hated Rosie. He wanted to die in her arms, and poison her tea, and cry on her floor. He wanted to soak through her dress as he finished over her lap. She knew him better than anyone, and he had long since memorized the shape of her, a thousand red imprints on his skin that he could remember her by when the glow of his collar was dormant.
Alastor did not want to be Rosie’s pet, but he did not know how to be anything else.

Summary
There were no bounds to their shared cruelty at night, where only the stars remained to witness it. A desperately anticipated thing, nightfall allowed them to tease whatever blades they’d driven into each other during the day, digging them in deeper between the ribs. Every evening Lucifer stood on the deck watching the sun dip below the horizon, waiting for a velvet sky to pin him down so he could do the same to Alastor. He’d look up and see Alastor watching the same sky from the crow’s nest, his eyes flicking down to Lucifer the moment the sunset was nothing more than a hazy strip of orange spilling onto the blackening sea like something toxic.
After being marooned on an island by Alastor, Pirate Captain Lucifer Morningstar swims all the way back to his ship to deliver an appropriate punishment.
