In this world, death is a kindness. Sold and taken; products and consumed; auctioned for pleasure. It was a dying way of life, and yet, the yūkaku continued to thrive in the dregs of society.
A gilded cage within human rot. A stage for dolls, trained and brainwashed to please.
And yet, in this dying world, two young women held a powerful sway. One abandoned in Yoshiwara, the other sold to Shimabara. Ryūhime and Koahime; two of the most popular oiran of Japan.
But, a cage is still a cage, and death is a kindness for those in this world of pleasures.
A different beginning; a changed world; and for better or for worse, a stronger bond.
