Near considered the possibility of Mello having somehow survived the explosion to be higher than Mello having lost the game so soon. Whether his prediction was based on fact or feeling, he couldn’t say. In all honesty, Near preferred not to think about that. Near liked objectivity. Anything else just confused him.
