Megumi slumped back in his chair, silently cursing the day he met Nobara, the day he met Yuji, and every day in between.
Nobara snapped her compact shut and stood, already grabbing her bag.
“Come on, tragic boy,” she said, tossing her hair over her shoulder. “We’ve got a party to get ready for.”
Megumi didn’t move.
Nobara grabbed his sleeve and hauled him up anyway.
“You’re welcome,” she added, like she was doing him a favour.
