2 years after the events of GO: Galaxy, Japan wants to prepare for an actual world cup. They split their country into a club league and a Japan-only tournament. The former doesn't allow Avatars, the later does. The trainers of the GO cast, the GO cast and the island Raimon from Are/Ori appear as coaches to search for Japan's new greats and eventually gather a team to win the World Cup. Meanwhile, a mysterious woman conducts a secret operation.
This is season 1, and it covers the club league where clubs work just like in real life - allowing players from multiple countries to be in the team. Everyone wants their club to win in the table, as this gives them the highest chance to be selected to their national team. The new protagonists, all of which OCs, will have to improve fast, as their team is predicted to come last.Series
