Summary
The last part, he whispers like a prayer ripped from his throat, “it leveled the building.”
“Leveled” - it’s a term I don’t recognize in this context, but I know the power of astrophage. The explosion would have been catastrophic. I can’t stop myself from warbling out a few nonsensical notes – shock at the news, sadness for the loss of those people, trepidation for what must come next, heartbreak for Grace. How well did he know them? How well did they know him?

Rocky has some thoughts about Grace. They painstakingly talk through those feelings.

Summary
A cursory poke to the glass yields little information. It holds steady and unmoving. It’s warm but not hot. Simon sends a brief thanks that the room itself is blissfully cool. It’s also dry - not the leaking, dripping, steaming mess of metal walls closing in on some poor soul.
Confident the glass won’t swallow him whole; Simon passes by it and underneath it to the doorway.
Some type of instinct is trying to tell him something, screaming across his reflexes, but it doesn’t break through the trance that this opening to outside has on him. Probably doesn’t matter anyways. It floats up and out of him and to the surface of some other ocean he’s no longer in.Simon wakes up alone on the Hail Mary. How do you make sense of a dream when you know you've already died?
