Nirei flinches, hands rising up to his neck. There’s something soft and wooly wrapped around it. When he glances down, he recognises the warm accessory in an instant, and his heart lurches in his chest.
“Nirei,” Sakura repeats, eyebrows etched together in worry. His gaze is focused on the bruises and scratches littering Nirei’s skin. “Who did this to you?”
His lips part, fingers curling into the fabric of Suo’s scarf, but he finds himself unable to say his name.

Summary
Kiryu just hums in agreement, lowering him to the ground before joining him, knees tucked to his chest. They stare out at the empty roads together, listening to the howling wind and watching stray leaves float by. It’s hard to see too—this road isn’t the most well-illuminated, with only a few measly lampposts for light, and Suo used to joke that they have to keep an extra eye out for any dangerous robbers when they cross this area together.
Nirei’s throat closes up. Suo used to be the one to walk him home.

“Don’t be so hard on yourself,” Momijikawa sighs, and suddenly, there’s a hand in Akihiko’s hair, patting gently. He nearly shrinks away from the unfamiliar touch, but it's like his body doesn’t get the memo, and instead has his limbs shutting down, turning into jelly.
