"I think we should break up." It was the first thing Grace said at six in the morning, lying on his back in bed, staring at the ceiling. Rocky was curled up beside him, having watched him sleep since the night before. Dinner had been quiet, and even more so had Grace's heart, but Rocky had reasoned that he was probably just exhausted from work.
"What?" Rocky laughs. This had to be one of Grace's stupid morning jokes. He always got a little silly after waking up—arguably even more than he did late at night. "I think we... should break up, Rocky... I don't think we're compatible at all," Grace murmurs, slowly turning his head toward him.
AKA: Rocky wakes up as a human 100 years later, only to find everything has changed, humans have finally reached Erid... and Grace has died.
