"… Can I have that?" grace asks, tapping the barrier with his finger.It takes Rocky a second to figure out what he's asking about, tilting back and forth; it looks like Grace is pointing at him… He touches his clothes. "This, question???"
Grace nods, his heart rate picking up. "Please…" he moves over to the airlock quickly.
Rocky pulls off his shirt and puts it into the airlock. "Why does Grace need clothes, worn clothes, question?"
"It's a human thing… We like having our nests smell like people we love. It's comforting…" Grace explains as he waits for the shirt to cool off in the airlock. "And I know your shirt's probably just going to smell like ammonia and—but I… I still want it…"

after months of healing Simon finally gets to meet the only other human on the planet their savior, and finds out he's got far different biology than any human he's met before.

Grace spends his lunchtime sipping on a nutrient shake and going through just about every item of clothing he owns trying to decide what would be the best to wear. They had been talking about introducing them for a good few months now, once their new alien was more comfortable and not dying or contagious.
The care team was very insistent that both of them had to be very healthy before they could interact so neither of them could affect the other's health all too poorly.
Especially now that Grace has proven several times to be able to stress himself into sickness even with a proper diet and none of the typical viruses that would cause illness in humans, which is so nice after years of being a teacher and having to worry about the season of sick kids.
But despite promising his partners and care team that meeting the new human would not stress him too bad, he's stressing… he's stressing BAD.
He hasn't seen another human in way too long. maybe six years? If you don't count the coma... And he has no idea what this guy is like.Series
