Ithilda was doing a patrol of her territory when she first saw him.
He had fur as black as the night above them, shining where the moon hit it and rippling with muscles and scars. Intelligent, black eyes watched her, but she sensed no threat. Just… curiosity.

Beorn and Ithilda are used to being alone, but it's always nice to know someone else is nearby.
...Especially when there is the potential to become closer than just 'nearby'.

Summary
Ithilda and Beorn have been living on the edge of the forest for some time now, content in their quiet life together. Therefore, it comes as quite a surprise when a strange wizard, thirteen darrows and a hobbit wanders into their territory.
(I recommend reading -'Always, my love'- first as its the origin but it should be ok to read alone lol)

Ithilda trotted through the trees, following the scent of the newcomers. It was a strange group; she knew that there weren't many hobbits so far from the Shire.
And certainly not with dwarves of all things.
