Draco Malfoy didn’t save her. He got in the way. There’s a difference.
Hermione Granger wakes after Malfoy Manor in a forgotten house on the edge of the Western Isles, without her wand, without a way home, and with Draco Malfoy as the only other person who knows she is alive.
There has to be an angle.
A canon divergence from Malfoy Manor.

Summary
Peace asks a different kind of courage than war did.
When Draco Malfoy was brought before the Wizengamot after the war, Hermione Granger stood up and told the truth about what he had done. Afterwards, she went back to the long work of building a life, as though the two things had nothing to do with each other.
Spanning nine years, The Temporary Nature of Light follows Hermione and Draco through the lives they build, the people they love, and the history neither of them ever quite manages to leave behind.
