Summary
This is my Hogwarts.
One small change: an owl lands on a rooftop in Marrakech.
Hermione Granger arrives at Hogwarts with five years on the streets of Marrakech behind her, two snakes at her shoulders and very different ideas about magic, education, and what exactly a school owes its students.
Hufflepuff, not Gryffindor.
Before she gets there, a very distant grandmother in a mirror begins teaching her another way of doing magic: one that listens before it commands, and treats the world as something alive rather than something to be made obedient.
Along the way, she finds an old metamorphmagus who has spent centuries becoming very difficult to surprise, and an alchemist who has had more centuries than she admits to develop some rather interesting ideas about magic, wands, history, and a world in which men have generally assumed they were in charge.
By the end of the year, Hogwarts will not be quite the school it was before she came.
Sometimes a pair of wings is enough to change the weather on the other side of the world.
