Summary
Set a few weeks after the events of Season Two, this story follows Cruz, Josie, and the team during the unseen period leading into Season Three.
After a dangerous mission leaves Josie seriously injured, her future becomes uncertain. Recovery forces her to confront her fears, accept help, and learn to trust herself again. Cruz refuses to let her face the journey alone, remaining by her side through every setback and victory.
As the weeks pass, their friendship grows into something deeper through quiet moments, playful teasing, emotional honesty, and feelings neither woman can continue to ignore. With Bobby offering support and clearly noticing what is developing between them, Cruz and Josie must decide whether they are ready to risk their hearts.
As Josie grows stronger, she begins preparing to return to active duty and officially join the team. By the end, she is recovered, confident, and ready to stand beside Cruz as Season Three begins.

Summary
Prequel to Holding Patterns - Converging Vectors takes us back to Season 2 and the beginning of their story.
Josie Carrillo has a career she loves, a life she understands, and absolutely no intention of becoming Joe McNamara’s next Lioness. Cruz Manuelos is thousands of miles away in Africa, trying to convince herself that the worst of that world and everything it cost her is finally behind her.
Neither of them knows the other exists.
Yet.
Following the main events of Season 2, this story expands everything we didn’t get to see: the missing conversations, the looks across briefing rooms, the growing trust, the tension neither of them wants to acknowledge, extra missions, injuries, downtime with the team, and all those moments that could have happened between the scenes we already know.
Canon is still the backbone, but there will be new scenes, new missions and a few added complications along the way.
And since waiting a whole week for another Season 3 episode clearly isn’t enough Cruzie, we’re going back to where it all started.

Summary
Follow on from Holding Patterns - Close Formation continues directly from Holding Patterns, following Cruz and Josie as they settle into the next stage of their relationship and learn what it really means to build a life together while still operating as part of the team.
With Josie fully back on her feet, the focus shifts from recovery to what comes after. Missions, pressure, team dynamics and their own personalities begin testing the balance between being partners in the field and partners at home.
Their relationship is stronger, but still new, and both women have to learn when to push, when to trust, and when to let the other in.
A sequel to Holding Patterns and a prequel to Shared Airspace, Close Formation bridges the two stories and explores the period where Cruz and Josie move from simply choosing each other to figuring out how to make that choice work.
