  Summary

The Reaping of the Hunger Games had arrived. Thomas Greene has survived seventeen years in District 12, but nothing prepares him for the moment he steps forward and volunteers for the Hunger Games. With his best friends watching, his mother breaking, and a frightened young girl beside him, Thomas is thrown into a world of cameras, Capitol excess, and looming death.

One promise drives him forward: he will come home.
