Summary
It was real then. He quickly smoothened down his bed hair and rubbed his eyes to will away the drowsiness. He opened the door again, he knew it was rude to shut the door on people’s face but it was reflex.
“Fancy seeing you here, Akagami.” He greeted his guest.
“I wish I could say the same.” The red haired raised an eyebrow.
Mihawk sighed and walked back to the living room. He left the door open for the other man to help himself. Shanks followed him quietly. He could feel the other man’s eyes boring on his back but he didn’t turn around. He flopped down and waved at Shanks to do the same.
“Zoro said you were dying and I see that he wasn’t exaggerating.” Shanks explained settling on the seat beside him. Mihawk made a mental note to talk to Zoro about it later.
“I’m fine.” He mumbled closing his eyes and resting back on the headrest.

Mihawk has a bike accident and Shanks is there to take care of him. It ends up being a weekend of blast from the past and Shanks being someone Mihawk had least expected him to be.

“Can you do me a favour Mi?” He asked at last.
“What is it?” Mihawk crossed his arms and waited. He could sense where this was going but he still wanted to hear it from the man.
“Can you take care of the kids for a week?” Mihawk sighed pinching his nose.
“I can do that but where are you going?” Mihawk asked.
Shanks raked his hands through his already dishevelled hair mumbling, “Thanks Mi.”
“What’s going on Akagami?” Mihawk asked again. His patience with the red-haired dwindling by the minute.
“The distillery and winery might be going under and there are some really stupid people involved. I need to sort it out.” Shanks explained.
“Can I help in any way?”
“Please keep the children safe, Mi.” the red-haired pleaded earnestly.
“I will.” Mihawk replied pulled the red-haired in a hug.
Shanks left without any other explanation
