Summary
When he initially came to this new reality, Rocky resolved that he would just be Grace's friend.
That opinion changed when Rocky looked for this individual named “Stark”. (He was not bitter, it was just basic research.) The supposed future mate of Ryland Grace. According to this universe's fate, they were set to be with one another.
It took all of Rocky’s fine motor control to prevent himself from snapping the cellular device in half. Of course the “world’s greatest engineer” of the humans was an overshelled pompous ♫♪ ♬♬♪ who was credited for his individual experiments and not his contributions to human society. Contributions that were easily replaced and mostly negative, in Rocky’s opinion.
This was NOT a mate for Grace.

In hindsight, Grace could very easily realize just how he accidently led Rocky down the path of thinking that humans were amphibians.
However, in his defense when you spend almost 4 years in a cramped spaceship with no proper showers or baths- the idea of going swimming starts to sound absolutely heavenly.
Otherwise known as: 7 times that the Eridians thought that Grace was an amphibian, and the one time he finally found out why there are so many water features in his enclosure.
