Summary
On his eighth nameday, Maekar brought his first dagger to a royal smith, who delighted in a boy’s first communion with the Warrior. Craftsman hand on princeling wrist, he guided Maekar to reverently feel the coarse grains of steel with the pad of a thumb. Preached to him that a blade was defined by its absence just as much as its substance. To only trust in an edge starved thin.
“A good sword needs discipline, my Prince.”
Growing up, Maekar learned to survive on very little. Fourth sons ought not to ask for much, if at all. Baelor disagreed.

Summary
Turning to Maekar, he said, Come, brother, I need a partner.
Not do you want to, because Maekar didn’t allow himself things, but I need, because Maekar allowed Rhaegel things; a privilege Rhaegel did not intend to flaunt but was clear for everyone to see.
Clear to their Crown Prince Baelor, that was for certain.
A feast. A dance. Maekar and Baelor, through the eyes of Rhaegel.

Summary
Bright light. A blunt pain. Already he wished to fall back to sleep, preferably resting his weary head upon two pillowy, brotherly mounts. He gingerly reached up to touch the throbbing heat at the back of his head.
“Oh, I wouldn’t do that,” said a voice attached to a face attached to a boy—Allan, Aaron, Arby?—sitting by his bedside. “It was pretty gnarly. The nurse had to shave a lot of your hair off. Father is devastated. He fears that your already thinning hair won’t survive the regrowth.”
Aerion took advantage of Baelor's concussed state by lying to him that Maekar, his brother-husband, had been married to Dyanna Dayne all along. Baelor took it as well as you'd expect.
This oneshot chronologically takes place before the main story!
