Description:

Peter Parker was a typical fourteen-year-old child in the year 1986. Then he got bitten by a radioactive Spider, and a secret organization called HYDRA found out and kidnapped him, where they kept him in stasis when not using him as a weapon. Forty years later, the Avengers raided a HYDRA base and found a fourteen-year-old kid freezing to death in a concrete cell who was only known as The Winter Spider.

All it took was one look for Tony to decide this pitiful child deserved way more than being looked at like a weapon or asset. In a split second decision, Tony gave Peter the spare room in his apartment, and committed himself to taking care of him. Peter was quiet, and a little creepy, but Tony quickly came to love him with all he had. Now his life goal was to make Peter happy, and get him integrated into everyday life. School was Tony's biggest dream for Peter. It was just going to take some time to get him there.

Notes:

Peter is selectively mute. As the story progresses, his communication opens up. Tony is his safe person, and as he relaxes and recovers more, he's able to talk more and more to Tony. Early on he talks mostly when he's not paying attention to the fact he's talking, if he starts actually thinking about what he's saying he clams up and the anxiety hits him. This will progress as the story goes on, and eventually he'll be able to talk to Tony no matter what, when they're alone.

Also he'll eventually start talking to more people, but that will take longer. Selective Mutism is typically brought on by some sort of trauma, and for Peter it was HYDRA torturing him whenever he talked. (because lets be real, spider-man can be annoying if you're a jerk about kids being talkative) He doesn't really remember much of his time with HYDRA in the beginning, but his body remembers the pain and anxiety surrounding talking.
