Summary
Inspired by “Secrets We Kept” by Larissa_liest; A La Netflix movie “Look Two Ways” -- this explores the other version of “Secrets We Kept” - in which Shane does tell Ilya he’s pregnant.
--
Shane Hollander stares at the pregnancy test in his trembling hands. Two pink lines.
Unmistakable.
This was his worst case scenario. Actually, his worst case scenario, which had been the subject of many nightmares over the years, was suffering an injury young, and having to quit hockey before he was able to do everything he wanted. Be everything he wanted. Before he could bring home a cup.
But, this was worse. Worse than worst case scenario. A career-ending injury was awful, sure, but he could keep his reputation - be a great player whose journey sadly ended too soon. No one would think of him as anything other than that - a footnote, if anything, in the history books.
This…this would have his names splashed across the history books in ways he could never have imagined. The headlines flashed through his head. “Gay Hockey Player Knocked Up”, “Hollander Pregnant - Who’s the Daddy?” “One Got Past the Goalie.”
