Summary
Wile E.’s plastered to the road as surely as if an anvil had been dropped on him. His breath stills. It’s quiet enough to hear the blinks of the Road Runner’s eyes. He presses closer, beak pushing into flesh. Not hard. It doesn’t hurt. But it feels deliberate. Wile E.’s fingers twitch. He could reach up. Wrap his paws around the Road Runner’s neck. Open his jaws and clamp down on what’s all but being offered to him—but he can’t move, pinned in place by the weight of more than just a frail beak.
After the trial, Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner work out what they are to each other.

Summary
Lately, Wile E. has been feeling…urges.
When Road Runner looks up at him with those wide eyes. When he sinks into Wile E.’s touch. When beak meets snout and Road Runner’s tongue snakes between his lips. Wile E. was worried, at first, that it was his old hunger returning. Except instead of the urge to bite, to rip into flesh, to devour, he feels a different urge—though one that’s not any less primal. To run his tongue over the line of Road Runner’s throat. To pin him onto their nest. To see Road Runner’s body open to him. To…mate.
He might have just traded one craving with another.
Wile E. Coyote finds himself once again tormented by thoughts of Road Runner. Some things never change.
