Summary
For the rest of the time Harry had to himself in Diagon Alley before the fall term began, he threw himself into reading and studying magic. He figured, not knowing about being a wizard until a month before school started would put him at a major disadvantage, so he resolved to learn as much as possible in the month and change he had.
He bought all the books he could on spellcasting and magical theory from Flourish & Blotts, as well as several history books, to learn more about himself and his family. Marley helped him go through his family record, and Harry discovered that he was linked to several of the oldest families in Britain, as well as a murdering madman who happened to be his godfather, and, depressingly, the reason for his parents death. Harry was really getting tired of relatives who sucked, especially ones that resulted in him spending ten years with the Dursleys.
Two weeks before Harry Potter turns eleven, he receives a letter.
Two weeks before Harry Potter turns eleven, he is left in Diagon Alley by Petunia Dursley. Determined to make a change in his life, he throws himself into studying magic, afraid of being left behind in his new, magical world.
