Summary
It's not like Andre believes, whole-heartedly, that a chance at university is present in their future—especially not when he fathoms the thought of killing all his peers a month later.
And it's not like he doesn't know he's been conditioned by an environment more oppressive than the warm hands that ached their grip on his breath. He's a flea stuck in a jar, mentally kept constrained.
But when the cruelty of reality wields forth a weapon of blond, who's more than eager to break him down further. Andre can't help but be a sorry sucker. A more than pliant fool in his own demise.
Or
Andre knows just how much Cal ultimately yields the higher power within their respective dynamic.
