“Oh, I cannot?” The blond man twirled around dramatically, or rather tried to. It was rather hard to move quickly with his 8-months-pregnant belly. “Watch me!”
The last thing Louis wanted was to aggravate his hormonal and exhausted husband, but he had to draw the line somewhere. That somewhere was this, Lestat dressing up as the family-friendly version of his old sexy Grim Reaper costume.

Not an ounce of pity in his smooth voice. Lestat almost shudders with relief. He had been afraid of this, when he told Louis the prickly details of his turning. He’d been afraid that Louis would treat him like a broken thing. Handling him with a clinical softness, always seeing his maker through the cracks, never truly looking at Lestat, maybe even using it to add some spice to his insults in the future. He's pleasantly surprised, maybe shouldn't be. It’s Louis, his Louis. He should've known Louis wouldn't. That his lover would find a safe middle ground between care and worry.
