Summary
If she’s still and quiet, if she’s not taking an active role in this, then maybe the blame isn’t entirely hers. Maybe she’s not a homewrecker. The dreaded Other Woman is such a pop culture cliché; never in a million years could Mel have imagined that she’d be in that position. It doesn’t feel real. Part of her wonders, briefly, if she’s dozed off in Langdon’s front seat, but she knows what a dream feels like. This isn’t it.

Summary
He’s clearly trying to be quiet, but soft little noises keep slipping out. She commits them to memory, filing them away alongside the way his calloused fingers feel on her skin. He’s rubbing circles on her hips with his thumbs, the edges of his nails are digging in just slightly, and his wedding ring is still on. Mel remembers how she’d avoided looking at it yesterday, and the rebellious, vindictive, desperate-for-bad-decisions part of her swells in her chest again.
