Summary
Years ago, a clown wanted a family. So first he found himself a girlfriend, tortured her into insanity, and thought that was enough. Then she begged him for a child, so he snatched one off the streets and shocked him until he was a good little boy who always smiled and followed orders.
Then the woman felt guilty, so she disappeared into the night with the child, abandoning the clown behind her. Unfortunately the boy didn't stay with her either, running away and leaving both his Mama and Papa behind. He let himself heal, let himself recover from what was done to him. Even turned himself into a cuckoo and curled up in a Robin's nest.
So what happens when the clown finally finds his son again?

Summary
Once upon a time, there was a little bird flitting here and there across Gotham. He was the second little birdy to appear and he was magical. He cast spells, bringing smiles and safety to the hearts of those he helped. This little birdy was protected by a big bat and because of that thought he would always be safe. The bat would always save him.
But the birdy left the bat, just for a moment to try and find his mother, the woman who had birthed him even if she had not raised him. They were family, right? The little birdy just wanted a mother to love him.
And instead she handed him to a monstrous clown. A clown who took great pleasure in breaking every bone in the birdy's body, drawing an agonized song from him. And when the bird couldn't fly anymore, couldn't sing anymore, the clown abandoned it and let it burn in a fiery blaze, that bat too late to save him.
Nightmares of that night haunted the boy still, waking up screaming with echoes of horrible, mocking laughter and the feeling of crowbars beating his skin. The clown was dead, another bird had said as much. They couldn't find the clown anymore, but the boy feared and he had to know what really happened.
So, to the other bird he went.
