Summary
“You can’t just leave me,” Naim—it, surely it—says. And fuck, does he sound torn up about it, crushed and teary. Ryan swallows.
“Funny,” Ryan tells it sardonically, closing his heart off as coldly as he can manage. “That’s the exact thing you’ve been tryin’ to do to me.”

Summary
“Whaddya thinking about, huh, Naim?” Ryan asks, his shoulder pushing into his.
“Nothing,” Naim says. He lets his weight sink against Ryan—12 hours of just them, by themselves, happy. What he would have done for this. What he did do. “Maybe we could hitchhike to my dad’s.”
“Your dad?” Ryan asks, tearing his gaze away from the TV to stare at Naim.

Summary
Ryan sighed. He shifted his positioning on Izzie’s bed, moving his hands back so that they brushed over Naim’s knuckles as they went. “I really wanna hold you,” Ryan whispered.
“Me too,” Naim whispered back immediately, as if he had been keeping the words in his mouth for hours. “It’s all I’ve wanted for weeks.”
“I wanna play fight,” Ryan whispered next.

Summary
She glanced around the bus with an observing eye. Crying on the public bus was one thing that most could overlook, but other things—Ryan pecked her lips again. “It’s okay,” she whispered. “I wanna do this for you.”
Naim swallowed. She wanted Ryan to do this for her, too. She sighed shakily into Ryan’s mouth. “Okay,” she whispered again. “Yeah.”
