Summary
Jensen comes to the conclusion that monogamy sucks about a month after his fiancé Jared leaves him at the altar (well, technically it was the rehearsal dinner but it might as well have been the damn altar). Jared seems to be moving on just fine while Jensen’s been unable to hook up with anyone because they’re not Jared. He doesn't feel all that bad about that until Jared calls to ask if it’d be okay for him to bring his new "friend" Trevor to the bar one evening.

Summary
Jensen ends up putting his ‘Operation: Win Jared Back’ on hold. He tells himself that it’s for the best because rushing into things probably won’t help and realistically he knows that he and Jared have to work at being friends first before they can move onto being something else again.

Summary
“This isn’t going to work out.” That’s how Jensen decides to start his little speech. It - this - doesn’t really mean anything, not yet. But it’s a good place to start. It's a general conversation opener (albeit for one that probably won't go well, but still) and they can work with that. Jared will ask him what he means, and then Jensen will explain that they can’t get back together because everything is still a fucking mess.

Summary
Jared forgets sometimes that there are boundaries where they weren’t before but for the most part things are okay. They’re okay, and Jared feels better than he has for a long time. He feels like Jared again, which beats feeling like the douche who called off his wedding for a slew of idiotic reasons.

Summary
“What exactly are we doing here?” Jared asks. Jensen gives him a puzzled look. “I mean, us, here. Are we here as friends or...are we back together? I...need to know.” Jared hates being so blunt about it, but he’d like to actually enjoy a day with Jensen like he used to without worrying about saying the wrong thing or touching when he’s not supposed to.

Summary
If there’s one thing that Chad hates, it’s people. That’s a bold statement to make, but it’s true. He can’t stand them. He maybe tolerates his friends and his mom but everyone else could drop off the face of the Earth and he wouldn’t care. It’s what makes him the perfect friend really. Despite the fact that he loves those idiots, they all frustrate him in different ways. Jared, his best friend, is probably the worst offender. Jared’s a worrier and he’s a nice guy, two things that Chad generally isn’t. It makes Chad feel protective and maybe sometimes he overlooks the dumb shit that Jared does and sticks up for him anyway. Outsider POV.

Summary
Jared discovers that planning a wedding he actually wants to go through with is just as hard when he factors in meddling friends and a fiancé who maybe doesn’t trust him. Meanwhile, Jensen sometimes wonders how they ever thought they could live apart, how they survived during the period when they were broken up. He always comes to the conclusion that it doesn't matter - that’s all in the past. What matters is the present.
