Kind of a modern day au, except they’re all still… who they are? I don’t know, I just needed them to have some modern tech!
Instead of hauling off on some crazy endless adventure, the crew decided to do a few odd jobs in the next big city and save up to rent a place together and maybe put Fjord through some kind of schooling, get Jester some actual medical equipment, and generally lay low.

Notes:

They actually managed to do it and now the disaster Family rents a shabby condo about a mile from the magical equivalent to a community college where Fjord and Jester take classes.

The rent and school fees are paid through a combination of Jester’s tips from her waitressing job at a tavern up the road, Caleb’s minimum wage salary from the local bookshop where he works part time, and some occasional unsavory income from Molly and Nott doing what they do. When Yasha comes around she contributes what she can, but she doesn’t live there full time. Beau spends a lot of time with her tutor who apparently is staying in town, and feels bad about being unable to hold a steady job.

Nott low-key really wants to go to the college too, but due to the anti-goblin propoganda running rampant through the continent, she is unable to do anything other than follow Caleb to work and take notes from the beat-up textbooks college kids buy and sell in the store. She’s really interested in Philosophy and History.

Unlike my other ongoing but kind of slow going series, this is in no way planned, other than trying to get Nott into school there won't be an overarching plot, just slice-of-life cuteness!
