Summary
Avis DeVoto's life revolved around women. With just seven days in a week, she arranged her calendar around a set routine. Each day had its own purpose. Each woman fulfilled a different need. So many lovers, so little time.

Summary
Avis DeVoto had no illusions about her own legacy. She'd be but a footnote in the history of Hollywood's Golden Age, and that suited her just fine. But in the wake of the war, Manhattan and her meandering stage career offer nothing but discontentment and boredom. So, when her dear friend and Hollywood starlet Judith Jones invites her out to the West Coast for a visit, who is she to refuse? To her chagrin, she is not Judith's only houseguest. And bigshot Broadway producer Blanche Knopf has been a thorn in her side for the better part of four decades. And being the third wheel to their pitiful pining is not her idea of fun.

Summary

Avis had even claimed it to be sisterhood the day after. Alice chalked it up to that alone and called it a mere chance.
