After Elena Gilbert's brush with death at the hands of Klaus Mikaelson, she is left heartbroken after Stefan's departure from Mystic Falls. Seeing her in dire need of good news Alaric Saltzman decides to come clean about his and Isobel's darkest secret: their daughter, Angelica.
Armed with seventeen years of knowledge of the supernatural, various martial arts qualifications and a trusty supply of vervain, Angelica agrees to move back to Mystic Falls and connect with her newfound biological sister. Living with the Gilbert's, she befriends the humans and vampires of Mystic Falls alike.
Despite previously preparing Angelica for any eventuality, Alaric did not consider how he would be unfit to take care of her in his current state of depression, grieving Jenna's death and relying heavily on the kindness of the Gilbert's and vampire muscle of the Salvatore's to protect her. The task was considered fairly low maintenance, until a certain blonde haired hybrid moved to town...
