July 1960 has been eventful for Gladys Pugh. She got engaged, experienced an unexpected reunion, got un-engaged. She endured a week-long battle with a villain: a battle she appears to have won. She resigned her position with Maplins…and was persuaded to reconsider.
All this, and she is barely halfway through the month. Perhaps the coming days will offer the chance for her to catch up with herself.

During the winter break at the end of 1959, Gladys is delighted to receive an unexpected offer from Joe Maplin. She and several colleagues are offered a trip to a luxurious Highland hotel that Maplin is looking to purchase. All she has to do in exchange is work her charms on the investors Maplin has lined up.
Of course, Gladys hopes this might also be an opportunity to reunite with Jeffrey Fairbrother. A romantic Scottish landscape, a hotel that boasts a beautiful Victorian spa, the tantalising prospect of finally – finally – seeing Jeffrey in bathing trunks…
Poor Gladys. She has no idea how complicated things are about to become.

Follow Ted and the yellowcoats as they continue the fun and shenanigans at Maplins Holiday camp.This story focuses on Gladys ( Pugh) Dempster and Clive Dempsters efforts to balance the demands of their jobs as entertainments manager and head yellowcoat at Maplins Holiday camp. not only are they dealing with unruly campers in the camp whilst trying to have a love life out side the walls of Maplins they are also trying to raise a family of their own. -

Professor Jeffrey Fairbrother is enjoying life in Wisconsin. He looks back with affection on his time at Maplins, but he knows that Entertainment Management was not for him. The USA is shaking loose some of those inhibitions. He's even making friends.
Gladys Dempster knows she has a lot to be thankful for. She has an exciting new life in Australia. She has a handsome and charming husband, a lovely home, and weather that puts the British Isles to shame.
Clive Dempster is very happy with his new wife, and glad to embrace the role of devoted husband. Almost all of the time.
